the insider manifesto

what I stand for

I have a feeling we have some things in common. If you’re keen to work with me or you would like to be part of our Insider community, I thought you might want to know what I stand for. These are the values that drive The Insider Creative, and what I will strive to give you if you join our tribe.

  • Be Kind

Sadly this isn’t a world where anyone can be anything, but it is a world where anyone can be kind. Be kind to yourself, and be kind to your people. It costs nothing.

  • RESPECT EVERY WORD

A single word can change the course of a whole life. Words have the power to inflict joy and pain in equal measure. Never give up learning how to use words with care and respect.

  • The Magic of creativity

Creative freedom comes when you ignore what the world might think and release your imagination into the wind. Reject tradition and believe in your creative path - don't worry about where it might lead; enjoy the freedom of making it yours.

  • Commitment and curiosity

Be curious. Break down borders and feed your hunger for ideas in new and unexpected places. But don't let curiosity distract from commitment. Commit to the brand you are building and invest in doing this one small thing brilliantly.

  • The Power of One

To all the Teams of One out there - I know you. We are brave, we are nimble, and we do not need to be the biggest or the loudest to make an impact. Small is beautiful.

  • Strength in community

Find your tribe and work hard to keep them. Listen to them and never stop learning who they are and what they want from this world. Remember that to be truly connected we cannot control perception - be authentic and trust that you are enough.

  • Listen with Empathy

Be fully present when people are talking to you. Their words are precious, and they deserve your full attention.

  • The Courage To Share

I’m going with Brene Brown here because no one says it better: “The origin of the word "courage" comes from the word "cour", which means heart, and it means to completely share your story with your whole heart.”

  • Accountability

Take ownership of your mistakes and learn from criticism - mistakes are your best metric for growth.

  • Repetition of habits

The difference between an amateur and a professional is the repetition of the same tiny habits performed daily over a lifetime. Read James Clear’s book, Atomic Habits - it will change your life.

  • Friendship

True friendship is unconditional - it feels safe and nourishing. Friendship cannot exist without mutual trust, care and respect.

  • Hope

It takes grit to be hopeful. Hope is the certainty that small acts of love and kindness can change big things for the better.
